Wheel & Sprocket Pro Development will be allowing four elite
amateur racers the opportunity to join the team to participate in
the 2008 Nature Valley Grand Prix. The team has been selected
by the Nature Valley Grand Prix to field a Midwest regional
development team. The four guest members will join two
current team members for a total team size of six riders. Rider
selection will be performed by a committee of members of the
Wheel & Sprocket Pro Development Team and all decisions made
by the committee will be final.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The committee will be selecting racers based on the following
criteria:
Age – Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a
racing age of 25 or under. Preference will be give to U23
applicants.
Geographic location – Only racers living in the Midwest will be
considered. The Midwest will include the following states: Ohio,
Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri,
Kansas, and Nebraska.
Racing category – Applicants must hold a current category 1
racing license.
Results – Applicants must provide a resume that includes recent
results and career highlights.
Goals and character – Applicants must provide answers to the
questions in the application form and the answers to these
questions will determine if the rider is a good fit for Wheel &
Sprocket Pro Development.
BENEFITS
Wheel & Sprocket Pro Development will provide each successful
applicant with uniforms to be used during the race and will pay
for the race entry fee for each member of the team. The team
will also be working with the organizers of the Nature Valley
Grand Prix to provide host housing to all team members.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This will be considered a composite team and all riders will need
to obtain release letters from their current USA Cycling teams
prior to the start of the race.
Application deadline is May 2, 2008 and team selection will be
completed by May 16.
